ACCESS POINT
What is access point?
Based to the HPE Glossary (2025) “A wireless access
point is a networking device that provides wireless local area network (WLAN)
connectivity to Wi-Fi devices such as laptops, cellular phones, and IoT devices
using radio technology rather than wired network cabling.”
I understand it as a device that allows other
devices, like my cell phone, computer, or even smart home devices, to connect
to the internet wirelessly. Instead of relying on a physical connection, it
uses radio signals to create a Wi-Fi network in a specific area. For me, it's a
key tool for expanding internet coverage, especially in large or wall-hungry
spaces where the main router's signal doesn't reach as strongly.
