HTTP

 What is HTTP?

Based on the from the HAProxy Technologies (2024)  “Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) is one of the internet's foundational protocols, enabling reliable communication between clients and servers at the application layer (Layer 7) of the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) model.” (Haproxy, 2024)

The quote clearly highlights the importance of the HTTP protocol in the functioning of the Internet. I find it interesting that its role within the application layer of the OSI model is mentioned, as it helps us understand the level at which it operates. Personally, I see HTTP as the bridge that allows my browser to communicate with servers and display the information I'm looking for on the web. Although we often don't realize it, this protocol makes it possible for us to access pages, submit forms, or view online content quickly and reliably.
